The Dum Dobra Foundation is a charitable foundation that helps people affected by war. Our history began in February 2022, when several people gathered in Prague to help Ukrainians fleeing the war to find a roof over their heads and get the necessary support in these difficult days for them. A lot of people needed immediate help, and that was the main impetus to start our business.
It all started with the creation of two small teams, the first of which dealt with the collection, sorting and subsequent dispatch of humanitarian aid. The second team came up with the idea of furnishing a house for refugees in the former building of the Prague University of Applied Arts UMPRUM. Thanks to a great coincidence, the two teams united and already on February 27, a team was formed that worked together in the building of the future Dobra Karlín House. Thanks to the people who cared, we were able to accommodate the first refugees after just one week of construction.
During our existence, we managed to reconstruct and equip three hostels for more than 800 people (Dům Dobra Karlin, Dům Dobra Vršovice and Dům Dobra Bohnice), collect and send more than 85 tons of humanitarian aid to Ukraine, open an integration center for children and adults, which was visited by more than 1000 people.
