The primary task of Dom Dobrá was to help people who came from areas actively affected by the war. People were forced to leave their homes with one backpack and a passport. Our goal was to provide people with a roof over their heads as soon as possible.
Dům Dobra Karlín is our first house, which was prepared by over 100 volunteers day and night. Thanks to this, we were able to welcome the first refugees after just a week of work.
The Doma Dobra Karlin building, which is located just a short distance from the center of Prague, was arranged for us by the development and investment group Vihorev. Every corner of the house was cared for by volunteers and most things were donated by people who wanted to help.
Dům Dobra Vršovice is a former hotel "Mars", which was rebuilt into a house for refugees. In the first days after the building was provided, we accommodated 100 displaced persons who had to spend the night in the Congress Center building.
Thanks to the cooperation with the development company Gartal, which provided us with a building in good condition, we opened Dům Dobra in the shortest possible time. Within two weeks we managed to equip the rooms with bunk beds and other necessary equipment.
Dům Dobra Bohnice — it's a house that we really put our soul and time into, because we were given the space for the longest period of time – until the end of 2023. It was originally a large open space in a picturesque neighborhood, provided to us by a group of entrepreneurs from the Panorama Troja company.
The space needed additional equipment, and thanks to the help of sponsors and hundreds of volunteers, we managed to build a complete dormitory for mothers with children from the ground up in just one month. The support of not indifferent people helped us to quickly collect the necessary building material and labor so that we could prepare the premises in the shortest possible time.
